The POPI Act (Protection of Personal Information Act) is South Africa’s equivalent of the European Union's GDPR (EU General Data Protection Regulation) or the CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act). It sets some conditions for responsible parties (called controllers in other jurisdictions) to lawfully process the personal information of data subjects (both natural and juristic persons).

As this is law, we have to and will abide by it.
